GETTING MARRIED IN JAMAICA

Visitors can be married just 24 hours after arriving in Jamaica providing prior applications have been made for the marriage licence; some Jamaican Hotels will make all the arrangement for your nuptial if you alert them in advance. Most marriage officers will perform weddings at their offices, homes or at places chosen by the couple and are able to provide witnesses for the ceremony.

The following documentation is required for all persons wishing to get married in Jamaica:

Proof of citizenship - a certified copy of your birth certificate which includes father's name
Parents written consent - if under 18 years of age.
Proof of divorce - certified copy of divorce certificate (if applicable)
Certified copy of death certificate - of your deceased spouse (if applicable)
Official Translations - of all documents that are not in English
